Strength
Humans need leadership to avoid anarchy. Collectively, over millennia, we figured that one out with help from the likes of the Code of Hammurabi, the Bible and the Magna Carta.
Humans have also observed over these millennia that the average person gravitates toward a leader who exudes strength. Apparently, it doesn’t matter if the leader is good or bad, strength is the gravity that pulls them in.
Though Donald Trump has shown in his lifetime that he is a high-functioning con man prone to brain rot with a penchant for fascism, he does exude strength; that’s his secret sauce, his juju of success, as witnessed by his millions of supporters and followers.
Regardless of the behavior or ideology, people appear to be hardwired to love a strongman. And that’s it. That’s all I can tell ya.
The democratic party is sorely missing a strong leader. Big time. I would be remiss in not giving a shout-out to the democratic people who are exercising their muscle in speaking out against “No Kings” and federal judges tracking with the Constitution, mucking up and blocking many of the bloviated gadfly’s executive orders.
With a straightforward opportunity to clobber the Trumplicans presenting itself, take back the majority of Congress and effectively sterilize the creep infecting the White House, timing couldn’t be better for creating and sustaining a powerful narrative, highlighting Trump’s past blunders, his current anti-democratic ways and missteps, and tethering the House Reps and Senators who align with the Tyrant in Chief to replace them.
However, it would take a Dem strongman or strongwoman around whom the party could coalesce to make it so – a leader to tap into the current terrific energy of democratically-minded Americans and create a sustained march to the midterms. Such a Dem leader has yet to emerge.
Humans are hardwired to follow the leader and crave strength in that leader, and in the absence of a good one, many will follow a bad one. So be it.
Right now opportunities abound to create an epic groundswell for Democracy and sanity with a 9.0 magnitude on the political Richter Scale. However, beating the dead horse, it takes a strong someone to lead that charge and to do just that.
Democratic strong leader: Come out, come out, wherever you are!!
